How to Prepare for Your First Yoga Class
1. Arrive Early
Come 10–15 minutes before class starts so you can check in, meet your instructor, and find your space.
2. Wear Comfortable Clothing
Choose breathable, stretchy clothing that allows movement. Yoga is done barefoot, so no special footwear is needed.
3. Bring Essentials
- Yoga mat (or borrow one of ours if you’re new)
- Water bottle
- Small towel if you tend to sweat
4. Avoid Heavy Meals Before Class
Try not to eat a heavy meal within 1–2 hours before class. A light snack (like fruit or nuts) is fine.
5. Communicate with Your Instructor
Let your instructor know if it’s your first class or if you have any injuries. They’ll suggest modifications for your comfort and safety.
6. Listen to Your Body
Yoga is not about “doing it perfectly.” Move at your own pace, rest in child’s pose if needed, and honor what your body needs.
7. Stay Hydrated & Relaxed
Drink water before and after class. Most importantly, enjoy the experience—yoga is about balance, peace, and self-care.
